Volunteer Opportunity – Projects Committee Member

Catalyst Community Developments Society, a not-for-profit real estate developer/owner/operator with approximately 1,400 affordable rental homes and 80,000 sq. ft. of community-serving space currently completed or under development across BC.

Catalyst is seeking a real estate construction/development professional to join its Projects Committee. This volunteer, part-time advisory role would suit an individual with strong real estate project management expertise and an interest in affordable rental housing projects.

The Projects Committee is a sub-Committee of the Catalyst Board of Directors and is responsible for providing governance oversight for projects during the delivery phase. The Committee serves two important functions.  First, it provides an important governance function to the Board in the area of project management. Second, it provides support and guidance to the Management team.

The Committee currently has four members and is targeting five or more. We seek to have strong (non-Director) committee members who may be interested in eventually joining the Board.

Meetings are held approximately four times a year, typically in the afternoon/evening either over video conference or at Catalyst’s office in Vancouver. In addition to these meetings, decision-specific conference calls are sometimes convened to deal with specific issues that arise between meetings.

This volunteer, part-time governance role would suit an individual with a strong construction or Legal background. If interested in applying for this position, please email your CV and a covering letter to julie@taylorryan.com.
